New measures to reduce speed limits on A61, Stretton and Clay Cross

Changes to existing speed limits along a stretch of the A61 have been approved today (22 October).

To help control the speed of traffic through Stretton Village and along the A61, Derbyshire County Council has agreed the following changes:

  • Reduction of the 50mph speed limit to 40 mph on the A61 Stretton Road, Clay Cross and A61 Main Road, Stretton (south of Clay Cross through Stretton village), to the south side of B6014, Morton Road
  • Introduce a 40mph limit between the 30mph limit through Clay Cross and the 50mph limit to the north of Clay Cross.
