Health Market Event

Posted on October 29 2013

NHS Hardwick Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is holding a Health Market Event on Tuesday 12th November 2013 in the Main Hall at Sharley Park Leisure Centre, Clay Cross. There are two main reasons for holding this event:

  1. The CCG is the organisation that is now responsible for planning and buying local healthcare. They want to make sure that local people are involved in the decisions that need to be made about health services for the local population. This is important because a detailed understanding of the community’s needs and wishes will help us make wise decisions on what matters most as NHS funding struggles to keep pace with rising demand for healthcare. This is your opportunity to shape the CCG’s plans for designing and delivering health services.
  2. The CCG also wants to provide a progress report to key stakeholders and the public on what it has achieved since it was established on 1st April 2013 and to present a financial report on how public money has been spent.

The events will take place between 2pm and 6pm. There will be an open “market place” with various health-themed stalls that the public can visit to learn more about the CCG and meet the clinicians and managers responsible for commissioning local healthcare. Free blood pressure checks will be available at the events and there will also be an opportunity to talk to partner organisations who will provide information and advice on various health issues. There will be a more formal session at around 2.30pm and again at 5.15pm when a CCG progress report will be presented, followed by a Question and Answer session.

They want as many people as possible to visit the health markets and give us their views and feedback on services. They would very much appreciate your attendance and also ask that you share this information with your memberships, neighbours, friends, family and work colleagues, and encourage them to attend.
