The officers in North Wingfield, Pilsley, Stonebroom and Shirland Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team have been working alongside the local community to set policing priorities for the next three months.

The standard of scarecrows throughout the village was fantastic. It was a close competition with many scarecrows worthy of winning. The winner of the 2013 Morton Scarecrow Competition was “Ready for Bed”, designed and made by Ann Wright. Congratulations to Ann and many thanks to everyone who participated in building scarecrows.
This is a reminder from Derbyshire Constabulary to be cautious if you receive unexpected emails from official looking organisations. For example, you receive an email that looks like it’s from your bank. The message may ask you to ‘update’, ‘validate’ or ‘confirm’ your details. It will probably direct you to a website that looks just like your bank’s site. Scam emails are designed to trick you into revealing your personal information and passwords so the scammers can raid your account, run up bills or commit financial crimes in your name.

Doorstep calls are being made by people claiming to be from Medequip, saying they want to service people’s home loan equipment and need to be paid. Medequip, who provide an equipment service throughout Derbyshire, do not make unsolicited visits and never charge clients for servicing or repairing any equipment.
